My wife, Wendi, and I decided to visit Sparky’s Pizza on a recent Sunday. It was bustling with customers, which I interpreted as a sign that Sparky’s is popular among foodies.
The restaurant is Located in the heart of downtown Seville at 1 Main St. Once inside, the warm and cozy ambiance of the restaurant embraces guests, making them feel right at home. The soft lighting complements the earthy tones of the decor, creating a comfortable setting.
There were parties consisting of families enjoying a meal together or friends gathering for a casual dinner, and Sparky’s provided a lively and enjoyable dining experience.
The constant flow of customers speaks volumes about the quality of the food and the quality of the staff. Several people entered to pick up to-go orders, and when the cook brought the food out, he struck up short conversations, calling the customers by name.
What to Order: Nice Selection of Pizza Pies
When trying to figure out what to order, it was a little difficult. Sparky’s offers a number of specialty pies, like:
- Sparky’s Everything Pizza: Pepperoni, homemade sausage, red peppers, green peppers, and banana peppers.
- The Mustard Pie: Homemade sauce, yellow mustard, bratwurst from Whitefeather Meats, green peppers, and onions.
- Pickle Pizza: Ranch/Garlic base, pickles, cheese blend including mozzarella and parmesan.
- Meat-Lovers Pizza: Pepperoni, homemade sausage, ham, and bacon.
- Plant-Lovers Pizza: Mushroom, green peppers, red peppers, fire-roasted tomatoes, and black olives.
- Aloha Pie: Pineapple, ham, and bacon.
My favorite pizza is a straight cheese pizza. Wendi likes meat on her pizza. We ended up getting a small, cheese pizza for me to review, and a family-sized Meat-Lovers Pizza (so we could take leftovers home).
Unexpected Guests
While Wendi and I waited for our pizzas, she noticed a former co-worker come into the restaurant with her husband and son. Because the restaurant was packed, there was no place for them to sit. They would have to wait.
It didn’t dawn on us to invite them to join us because there were three of them and only two seats. However, when the table next to us invited them to sit with them, the light bulb finally went off to have them join us and grab another seat.
Wendi’s friends really liked the Pickle Pizza and The Mustard Pizza.
Pizza Characteristics
When our pizzas came out, they had braided crusts. The family-sized pizza was huge!
The crust on the cheese pizza had a slightly crispy undercarriage and minimal flop.
The cheese on their pizza was very good, providing a gooey and indulgent topping. I thought the sauce had a slightly sweet taste. Wendi didn’t think so.
I thought the crust/dough could benefit with a little more salt. It wasn’t bad, but I would have liked a little more salt in the crust.
Sparky’s Pizza Co. takes their pizza seriously, making their dough and sauce fresh daily, ensuring the utmost freshness and flavor. With their commitment to excellence, it’s no wonder that it is a go-to restaurant in Seville.
Homemade Sausage
Customers can enjoy the unique flavor of the sausage on their pizza at Sparky’s. I’m an Italian who does not like Italian sausage because I don’t like the fennel seeds.
However, Sparky’s homemade sausage had a mild flavor that I really enjoyed. It is a standout ingredient to their pizzas. The homemade sausage is not overpowering, allowing other flavors to shine through. It adds depth and enhances the overall taste of the pizza.
The Meat-Lover’s Pizza features a generous amount of this flavorful sausage, along with other toppings like pepperoni, ham, and bacon. If you love a meat-based pizza, you will love this.
Overall Rating and Recommendation
